About Us

From maintaining much-loved community facilities to supporting local clubs, groups and good causes, our aim is simple: to make Much Hadham and the wider parish an even better place to live, work and enjoy.

What We Do

At the heart of our work is a commitment to supporting the Village Hall and Recreation Ground, two important facilities that have served generations of local residents.

But our support extends much further. Over the years, the Trust has provided grants to a wide variety of local organisations, helping to sustain everything from sports clubs and children’s activities to cultural, social and community initiatives.

We also help bring people together through fundraising events. From the traditional Much Hadham Fete and Dog Show to outdoor Movie Nights and Picnic in the Park, these events have not only raised valuable funds but created lasting memories and strengthened our sense of community.

Every pound we raise is used to support our charitable objectives and benefit the local community.

Our History

The roots of the Recreation Trust stretch back to the end of the Second World War, when the Thanksgiving Memorial Fund, also known as the Victory Fund, was established to raise money for the village playing fields and Village Hall.

The Much Hadham Recreation Trust was formally established in 1987, continuing that tradition of community support and fundraising.

Today, as an independent registered charity (1187002), we remain committed to the same underlying purpose: protecting and supporting the facilities, activities and opportunities that make our parish such a special place.

Looking to the Future

Much Hadham has a wonderful tradition of community spirit and volunteering, and the Recreation Trust is proud to play its part.

As the needs of our community evolve, we want to ensure that the Trust continues to make a meaningful contribution, whether through supporting established local organisations, helping new initiatives get off the ground or bringing residents together through community events.

With the continued support and involvement of local people, we can help keep Much Hadham a thriving, welcoming community for generations to come.
